What we are use
In Pocotoys, fine wood is as important as fine handwork and must be combined to produce high-quality products. My team and I spent 6 months and traveled across 8 countries to examine the characteristics of wood in each region, and we found what we were looking for.
Our products are mainly made of 3 kinds of wood, and we redisplay the beauty of nature through wonderful combination methods. It will take about 4 months for each piece of log to complete its transformation in Poco's magic house from being collected to being sold. They are not just toys, they are works of art. Even if placed directly at home, there is a unique beauty.
The woods we mainly use are:
- Beech from southeastern Canada. Canadian beech is slower growing, harder, and denser than European and Asian beech species. Higher density means that it will be more difficult and dimensionally unstable to obtain high-quality products. After our continuous practice, we have updated its unique processing method according to the characteristics of beech wood, turning it into a dream appearance.
- Walnut wood, Walnut is a very strong and stable wood that can take intricate carving. The color can be beautiful. Walnut is also one of the more costly woods. Most of our walnuts come from Iran and Turkey where the temperature difference makes the wood more lustrous than in other regions.
- Rosewood, Rosewood is one of the most durable hardwoods in the wood industry and is often preferred by homeowners and furniture makers for good quality and long-lasting furniture. Rosewood has a unique grain pattern and heartwood, but can be wavy, interlocked, or spiraled. Its grain pattern is often referred to as “spider-webbing” or “landscape,”.Rosewood emanates a soothing rose-like fragrance that comes from the essential oils present in the wood.
